Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre is a community theatre led\nby volunteers, and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit,\ncharitable\/educational organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In1965, \u201cOlde Town\u201d Annapolis was designated a Registered\nNational Historic District. Restoration of many of its historic buildings began\naround that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The following year a group\nof arts enthusiasts incorporated ASGT to contribute to the city\u2019s\nrevitalization and to\ncreate opportunities for theatre artists to practice their craft when other\nlocal groups were on summertime hiatus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joan had been active with The Colonial Players and was a founder\nof the Chesapeake Appreciation Days and the Annapolis Fine Arts Festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In 1966, they presented their\nfirst performance season<\/strong> outdoors behind the\nCarvel Hall Hotel, which encased the historic William Paca House & Gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Washington\nArea Theatre Community Honours awarded include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Outstanding Choreography (Winner)\n\u2013 Andrew Gordon for 2019\u2019s <\/strong>Crazy for You<\/em> The Washington Area Theatre Community Honors (WATCH) is an\norganization founded for the adjudication and presentation of annual awards\nrecognizing artistic and technical excellence in community theater throughout\nthe metropolitan Washington, DC area.
